WHAT SUSTAINABILITY MEANS TO US
At Loungeworks, we are committed to sustainable practices and socially responsible action.
A Healthy and Supportive Work Environment
We are committed to creating a supportive and nurturing work environment. Staff are encouraged to get involved in the community and maintain a healthy life work balance. We do everything we can to encourage participation in activities that support a healthy lifestyle. We allow flexibility in work schedule and strive to reduce demands that will affect their ability to lead a full and meaningful life outside of work. Additionally, we encourage and support skills development and ongoing training. As a company, we are actively involved in mentoring within the industry.
Active support of Industry Partners and Local Charities
We are active supporters of local charities and events. We do everything we can to make our products and services available to causes that our employees support. In any given year, at least 10% of our activities are provided to industry and charitable causes at no cost.
Environmentally Friendly Choices at Every Turn
We are continually working to minimize our impact on the environment and our community. Using only what you need is the most environmentally sensitive solution, so rental options are by their nature environmentally appropriate. The products we purchase are durable, flexible and meet multi-use needs. We are the only furniture rental company in Western Canada with truly ‘green’ options. The Girari Sustainable Furniture is manufactured in Los Angeles from recycle aluminum and glass. The Lounge 22 line as well, boasts strong green characteristics. Non-toxic glues, natural fibres and soy-based foam are used wherever possible on this North American-made line of design furnishings.
Wherever possible, we specify materials that are sustainable, non-toxic, recycled and recyclable. We ship our furniture in reusable, recycled fabric covers and use non-toxic supplies for cleaning. When a product is removed from our inventory, wherever possible we donate it to charity or sell it. If it cannot be reused, we ensure that we recycle as much of the product as possible.
